Come Back Soon
OPTIMYSTICISM · Released 10 July 2023
Lyrics
There’s something I must say to you Something that’s long overdue There’s one thing that I know is true… There’s no-one in my world like you. Even though the sun might shine it seems to fade with every time you go away. There’s one less ray and one more twilight day and just like me, they seem to say COME BACK SOON.
When your working day is done and all your hard fought battles won, smiling time at last will come… we’ll get serious about having fun. There’s something I must say to you Something that’s long overdue… Even though the sun might shine it seems to fade with every time you go away There’s one less ray and one more twilight day and just like me, they seem to say COME BACK SOON.
I miss that something about you baby When you’re not around That thing, that wonderful feeling you bring lifts me off the ground.
COME BACK SOON.
About the song
Life’s not quite the same while someone special is away – it’s not until they’ve gone that we appreciate how much they mean to us. This song is about missing someone and wishing they’d come back soon.
