Understand Me
OPTIMYSTICISM · Released 10 July 2023
Lyrics
When you tell me what you want me to do Then I’ll tell you I’d do anything Understand me
Try to see through how things seem to you.
Listen, don’t disagree You’ll find you might even see Learn something maybe Try to understand me Optimysticism Take me along for the ride Good things are bound to happen With angels by my side
Try to see through how things seem to you Things they say and do, different points of view
When you tell me what you want me to do Then I’ll tell you I’d do anything Understand me Understand me Understand me
About the song
I wrote this for my mum. We often didn’t ‘get’ each other but deep down there was a lot of love there, so it’s acknowledging that in a happy kind of way. I smile at her memory and I feel her support. Optimysticism!
