Jigsaw Puzzle
OPTIMYSTICISM · Released 10 July 2023
Lyrics
It’s a living 3D jigsaw puzzle kind of world we find Differences ahead won’t be like any left behind… The water’s deep, to see is to keep an open mind Tie it up tight, you know you might just as well be blind.
Differences give birth to meaning Numbers flower into names Pieces of a jigsaw puzzle None of them the same.
Wrong is only wrong according to what’s right There’s no peace more peaceful than the peace that ends a fight Anything looks dull when it’s surrounded by what’s bright Something short looks shorter next to something of great height.
There wouldn’t be a day if there wasn’t any night Darkness is its darkest as a background for a light Black could not be blacker than when set alongside white Blind is only blind in terms of something we call sight.
Differences give birth to meaning Numbers flower into names Pieces of a jigsaw puzzle None of them the same.
It’s a jigsaw puzzle.
About the song
A song about tolerance and how we should celebrate and appreciate our differences rather than let them divide us. The world is made up of many different shapes and colours but, like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle, they somehow complement each other - they contrast, combine and complete the ‘big picture’ perfectly.
