Honesty artwork

Lyrics

I wonder should I just play along, sometimes when I know that it’s all wrong… When I feel weak, I should be strong, wanna go it alone, but I need to belong… You smile, you say hello and goodbye, but even that’s not eye to eye Where is the honesty there used to be or was it never there at all? HONESTY (I wanna know…was it all show? Say it ain’t so…) Where did it go?

Lipservice in your words breeds doubt (and just when I thought I had it figured out) It’s cruel to make it seem so kind, to hide what’s on your mind… You smile, you say hello and goodbye, but even that’s not eye to eye Where is the honesty there used to be or was it never there at all? HONESTY (I wanna know…was it all show? Say it ain’t so…) Where did it go?

Lipservice in your words breeds doubt (and just when I thought I had it figured out) It’s cruel to make it seem so kind, to never say what’s on your mind… HONESTY (I wanna know…was it all show? Say it ain’t so…) Where did it go?

About the song

I wrote this for anyone who’s ever been lied to. It’s about those painful, often humiliating times when we’ve been let down by someone we believed in or betrayed by someone we genuinely loved or trusted that make us question whether we were being misled all along.
