Going On The Boeing
LIFE & LOVE · Released 26 July 2021
Lyrics
Attention final boarding call for Flight Nineteen, leaving now from Gate Fifty Five Let your heart think for your mind, of all the things that only love can help you find. You don’t want to say goodbye, to stay behind and live a lie Deep down you know a voice says you must go. When the time arrives to fly, commit yourself unto the sky (don’t ask questions why) I left myself in an airport transit lounge, instead of boarding with my love… …and she flew away …and the hurt starts showing just knowing she’s going on the Boeing jet airplane above. So silken soft, serene the wind that smoothes and soothes but stirs the stillness deep within It’s when you find yourself alone, somehow, somewhere inside out of your comfort zone. You don’t want to say goodbye, to stay behind and live a lie Deep down you know a voice says you must go. When the time arrives to fly, commit yourself unto the sky (don’t ask questions why) I left myself in an airport transit lounge instead of boarding with my love …and she flew away …and the hurt starts showing just knowing she’s going on the Boeing jet airplane…. When the time arrives to fly, commit yourself unto the sky (don’t ask questions why) I left myself in an airport transit lounge instead of boarding with my love …and she flew away …and the hurt starts showing just knowing she’s going on the Boeing jet airplane above.

About the song
I wrote this as a metaphor for regretting missed opportunities in life - the scene pictures a teary airport farewell as a boy watches his girl walk through the boarding doors to the plane while he stands transfixed in the transit lounge. He realises that they may never see each other again and that he may well have lost the love of his life.
